Hi there,
I just wanted to let you know that I recently stayed at Howard Johnson in Anaheim California directly across the street from Disneyland. we stayed there from January 31 until February 4 of this year in 2024.
I paid for an upgraded room in building one with a view of the Disneyland Park. I complained with the front lobby staff on more than three occasions that we were very unsatisfied with the room. When you walked out to the balcony, you had four massive redwood trees right directly in front of the window, which we had no view of the park. thats literally what I paid for.
The upgrade was to have a view of the park. This was my wifes 40th birthday gift being shes a huge Disneyland fan. I felt it was only right that I upgraded the room so she could see the fireworks at night. Its like the front lobby could care less with our frustrations of the room.
I was perfectly fine moving rooms but it wasnt even an option given by the front lobby staff. Also when they say theyre going to clean and you leave the room at 7 oclock in the morning to go into the park and you come back to the room just before 4 PM with two kids that were exhausted from the park and they needed a break and you walk in and we still have no fresh towels beds werent made trash wasnt taken out. I was beyond pissed off. I called down to the lobby four times before housekeeping finally came up.
It took so long that I had to put my youngest daughter back in the stroller to sleep, so when housekeeping came in I can just wheel her out of the room as they finally serviced our room. Again, I complain to individuals on deaf ears. I sent a review when our trip was over and one of the hotel managers called me. He said he was the manager on duty whatever that supposed to mean.
He heard what I said and said OK thank you for the feedback Ill let management know. Well, I figured that means the management would call me. its now February 25 and I havent heard a word. I will never stay at this hotel again.
At a minimum the hotel should at least pay me back the difference for the upgraded room which I received no upgrade. I was better off sticking with my original plan and stay in building two or three at a much cheaper rate.
At least Id have the view of the swimming pool. Instead of the backside of the trees and the trees Pineneedles.

They did not return my $50 deposit that they hold for incidentals. The complaints just go on and on there was no breakfast there was no wash towels.
The lighting was terrible. They had a saw crammed on one side of the hotel, so it was very noisy at night and very noisy in the morning And the railroad tracks were right next to the hotel and the train was loud as heck. Had us all, on the front end of Hotel. Rest of hotel was completely empty.
Toilet seat is about to fall off. The water was rusty and the lights were very dim inside the room make it hard to be able to study as I was in Odessa for a school.

Everyday we been takingmy husband service dog down to breakfast with us and today the front desk guy stopped us at the door and said "he can't come in because one of my employees allergic to him and everyday she complainabout not being about to breath". But we have been taking him with us for the past 4 days and we keep him right by us.
The employeesare making mop water where the breakfast is prepared. Qe have asked the house keepingto stay out of our room and even had the door hanger on the door and the door hanger came up missing and they wait till we leave to go do errands and then come in out room anyway.. we have told all the house keepers that our puppy is friendlyand they still kick at him. How are they gonna get away with kicking at our dog when there are 2 big aggressivedogs on the second floor that try to attackus anytime we leave our room.
All the rooms so no smoking but yet every single day we smell someone or multiple people smoking weed in there rooms..
there are 3 bloody mattresses over by the dumpyer that's a health hazard and should of already been destroyed of. We reserveda room with a large fridge and when we got here to check in the guy at the front desk said "I'm sorry I sold your room you have to deal with standard room".

I need to reach the friont desk for your HoJo in Ft. Myers, FL.
I am a self employed business man, with staff, working an interstate circuit as a business consultant, educator and therapist. For many years our SE area of operations was located in Ft.
Myers/Sanibel after moving over from Ft. Lauderdale in 2010. Hurricane Ian more or less wiped us out but we still have over a dozen clients in the Ft. Myers/Sanibel area, whom we continue to serve (our home office is in OKC).
As I and staff lost our homes there to the hurricane, Howard Johnson's had become our hotel of choice, when still serving our clients there. On this occassion, we showed up on an advance reservation using earned Wyndom Group rewards points. It was an unusually cold night and there was no heat in the hotel. For a bit, it looked like we would have to find another place to stay in the middle of the night.
Night staff at the HOJO found a brand new electric room heater and long story short, we were able to stay and make do. You have again won our business for future stays. And, YES! It can get cold in south Florida.
Before Ft. Lauderdale, our SE Area offices were in Miami and about 1979/80, I remember snow on the ground in Miami. I could not believe the HOJO did not have any heat in the rooms but your staff came through for us and even preserved a couple of clothing items we accidently left behind, which we retrieved a few days later, after going back to our new center of operations now located in Ft. Lauderdale area, again.
You took good care of us and we will be back. Thank you.
User's recommendation: We gave staff a chance to resolve our problem of no heat in the rooms and they came thriugh for us. They listened, they cared and they took care of us, literally in the middle of the night. They treated us right and that is the bottom line.
